Episode Description

The medical community has made significant strides in understanding how attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD) affects the brain. In the first part of this webinar, learn about recent advances in the neuroscience of ADHD from Dr. Jonathan Posner, who will use MRI studies to show how neural systems and brain regions differ in individuals with ADHD versus those with a neurotypical brain, and how ADHD treatments impact those brain systems. He will also discuss different approaches to studying the ADHD brain, including structural MRI, functional MRI, and brain connectivity techniques.

In the second part of the webinar, learn about common ADHD myths and misconceptions — and how the latest research helps to dispel them. Lastly, Dr. Posner will talk about the increasing rates of ADHD diagnosis in the U.S. and neuroscience’s efforts toward better detecting and differentiating the condition.

In this webinar, you will learn from Jonathan Posner, M.D., about:

  • How research is changing the way the world sees ADHD
  • How new research in neuroscience is shedding light on the ADHD brain
  • Which tools neuroscientists are using to better understand ADHD
